The Seventh Day

This day of CNY is considered the universal birthday of all people. Bernice's mum and elder brother's family are coming over to our home for lunch, so after church service we went straight home to get ready the dishes.

Of course, most of the ingredients were already prepared a day or two before. Bernice cooked her mum's favourite - asparagus stir fried with enoki mushrooms, red capsicum and black fungus.

Considering that Bernice's nieces Athena and Meagan are avid meat eaters, we've also prepared some yummy finger food such as this bacon wrapped mini tomatoes grilled to perfection with nanami togarashi (Japanese pepper).

After lunch, Bernice made some french fries using our newly bought Philips Air Fryer - best tasting fries without the oil. The kids simply love 'em!

I had a game of carrom with Meagan and later her two elder sisters. And they enjoyed playing hide-and-seek in our small little four-room HDB too!

My mum came over to join us for lunch too. And here's a group photo. See how happy little Meagan is?

We look forward to more of such family gatherings in the days to come...
